2009 SUMMER SCHEDULE
22nd-25th - Young Adult Ordination Expedition
A Catholic priestly ordination is one of the most beautiful rites in the Church. Come on down to Milwaukee to celebrate Luke Strand's ordination to Holy Orders. We'll be tenting it along Lake Michigan in the
woods of St. Francis de Sales Seminary!
This will be a first! ...for Deacon Luke and CYE!

26th-30th - Young Adult Holy Hill Expedition
Holy Toledo? No! Holy Hill! That's right! Father Joel Sember is heading up this 65 mile pilgrimage to the National Shrine to Mary, Help of Christians! You're gunna need some help because we're hikin' from Oshkosh through scenic county back roads of Wisconsin to the hill that is holy and you're gunna be holy for just makin' this trek!

6th-9th - Young Adult Rock Island Expedition
We have two young adult expeditions happenin' at the same time! That's right two for one...or something like that. This YA expedition will be a return to a favorite place for CYE...Rock Island. Located north of Washington Island, we'll be taking two ferries, hiking 10 miles across an island and camping out in a remote sight on the rocky northern shore of well...er of course, Rock Island! There's lots of rocks by the way. Bring a good pair of shoes!

7th-9th - Young Adult Kangaroo Lake Expedition
Our bread and butter expedition! This is what put CYE on the map. Back in 2002, we had 7 young adults on Chamber's Island for our first expedition. Hangin' around the campfire, praying the Liturgy of the hours, swimming and being people to one another. So simple, yet so powerful! The same this year, just a different place. Tenting on our newly acquired property and becoming more human while having FUN.

12th - Middle School Kangaroo Lake Expedition
Our one and only middle school expedition! A power-packed day put on by our 2009 summer staff. With a concentration on fun, we'll be introducing up-in-coming high school students with faith, fun and fellowship. Sail boating, swimming, skiing combined with adoration, Mass and confessions. We're talking about a crazy fun day! Just a taste of our high school expeditions.

We're starting out on all cylinders! Come'on our first HS expedition of the summer. Tenting, hiking, swimming, ultimate frisbee, smores, water skiing, sailing all on Kangaroo Lake, but that's not all. 20th-21st - Family Camp Kangaroo Lake
Praise the Lord! Presenting OUR FATHER'S DAY camp for families looking to unite themselves in prayer and sacrament while have some fun in the sun! The family is the domestic Church so why not have an undomesticated crazy time in nature while learning more about our faith in Christ and the Universal Church. St. Joseph, father and protector of the Church...pray for us! Mary Queen of Heaven...pray for us!

4th-5th - Curtis Camp Kangaroo Lake Expedition
Our first special needs camp for CYE! An opportunity to be together with family to pray and play! Geared for those who may not necessarily have a chance for an adventure like this, we are pleased as punch to put on this expedition!

10th-19th - Young Adult Wyoming Extreme Expedition: Wind River Range
Our new bishop, David Ricken helped start a college in Wyoming and we'll be making a pilgrimage to see it while making a 25 mile hike in the very only Wind River Range in the Rocky Mountains with at 13,500 peak climb for the adventurer! Along the way, we'll be making some stops at Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine in LaCrosse, Broomtree Retreat Center, Sioux Falls Cathedral, Mount Rushmore and the outdoor Black Hills Passion Play in South Dakota! us! An extreme expedition to the ROCKY MOUNTAINS...another first for CYE!

1st-4th - Young Adult Newport State Park Kayaking Expedition
Our first kayaking expedition ever! Geez, this is the summer of firsts! We'll be kayaking from St. Joseph Formation Center on Kangaroo Lake, portaging our kayaks through a county park to Lake Michigan and then kayaking up the shore to New Port State Park for some remote camping. Of course, we'll be so tuckered out that we'll take the bus back to St. Joseph's!
